HDTV

HDTV which stands for high definition TV is quite popular in Japan and is making it's presence felt in the United States. Although it was a bit sluggish in Australia but it is picking up there since 2003. In Europe the story is different where it is still in the nascent stages with only one company broadcasting HDTV in the whole of Europe.

With the introduction of Plasma technology HDTV is making inroads in the viewer homes. It makes use of gas plasma cells which are charged at accurate electrical voltages to make an image. As it makes use of digital technology it has a higher resolution as compared to CRT TV. It is much better as compared to LCD screens in displaying black which means better contrast and picture. Plasma HDTV has a better viewing angle as compared to LCD screen. Although it is expensive as compared to other technologies but the picture quality is sleeker and smoother and the screens are light and flat

Another technology is LCD, also called liquid crystal display this technology is used for producing images. In this technology liquid crystals are trapped between sheets of polarized glass. Electric current is made to pass through the crystals which results in the polarization of the light being changed in response to the current passing through them as a result of which more or less light is able to pass through the glass on the display face. The benefits of a LCD TV is that it consumes less power, it has a long lifespan, not prone to burn- in and can provide bright and clear images

Flat panel LCD are also available in the market .They provide the advantage of digital display precision, are not prone to magnetic picture distortions and you can get the perfect image focus. While purchasing a LCD monitor go through it's pros and cons so that you can make a wise choice of the technology.

Now let's talk about Plasma TV. This is a technology which is going to rule the future Television market. You would be thinking what Plasma is all about. A plasma TV is made up of a flat panel display in which light is created by phosphors which gets excited by plasma discharge between the flat panels of the glass. It was invented by Donald L. Bitzer & H. Gene Slottow at University of Illinois in 1964 for PLATO computer system.

The advantage of a Plasma TV is in terms of it's picture quality, screen size, viewing angle and response time.

A projection TV is a television receiver in which the image is projected optically on a large viewing screen. There are two types of projection TV rear and front. Front projection TV make use of external projection device to shine the image on the screen. Front projection TV are costlier as compared to rear projection TV. In rear projection TV image is projected on the screen to create a large image. In a rear projection TV image is reflected and projected on the screen from behind as compared to film projection in which the projector is placed in front of the screen.

You can also go ahead and rent projectors if you need it for temporary purpose. People tend to confuse between renting and leasing although both of them have different connotations. Renting provides the freedom from carrying projectors from place to place. Projectors can also be rented online but care should be taken to determine the authenticity of the provider.

Flat panel LCD are also available in the market .They provide the advantage of digital display precision, are not prone to magnetic picture distortions and you can get the perfect image focus. sometimes tottoos are very harmful. While purchasing a LCD monitor go through it's pros and cons so that you can make a wise choice of the technology.
